POLLINATION TECHNOLOGY / BUYER GUIDE
What Technology Can Measure Pollination?
Different technologies measure different parts of the pollination chain. Hive sensors may show colony activity, cameras can estimate visitation, acoustic or wingbeat systems can detect activity, and crop measurements are still needed to validate biological outcomes.
01
Hive telemetry
Useful for colony state and activity, but not a direct measure of flower-level pollen transfer.
02
Computer vision
Can quantify insects, flowers, and interactions where camera placement is practical.
03
Acoustic / wingbeat sensing
Can detect activity signatures but usually requires careful interpretation.
04
Outcome sampling
Fruit set, seed set, and quality measurements remain essential validation layers.
